About Sylvain Neuvel

Sylvain Neuvel dropped out of high school at age 15. Along the way, he has been a journalist, worked in soil decontamination, sold ice cream in California, and taught linguistics in India. He’s also a certified translator, though he wishes he were an astronaut. He writes about aliens and giant robots as a blatant excuse to build action figures (for his son, of course).

Rien de difficile, c’est promis. Et qui va sauver Pâques? On le découvre dans le nouveau livre de Michelle Franklin et J. Burrello, « The Orc Who Saved Easter ». On vous attend le 19 avril avec de la bière, des livres, des jeux et un quiz avec des prix à gagner. *Veuillez noter que les enfants sont les bienvenus aux Sans-Taverne et qu’ils servent de fabuleuses bières artisanales brassées sur place (les gens du bar, pas les enfants). ____________________ What’s a writing group? Elle chante, elle compose des opéras, elle est astronaute (OK, j’ai peut-être inventé ce bout-là). Le 25 février, c’est avec un immense plaisir qu’on reçoit la fascinante @cecilseaskull à la micro Les @sanstaverne . On jase de création, d’inspiration, de grosses franchises, et on réorganise l’univers (pour le mieux, bien sûr). She writes Batgirl, Princess Leia, Ariel and Elsa. She publishes novels for all ages, graphic novels and comics. She sings, writes opera and is an astronaut (OK, I might have made that last one up). On February 25, it’s our pleasure to welcome the amazing Cecil Castellucci at Les Sans-Taverne. We’ll talk creation and inspiration, big franchises, and we’ll reorganize the universe (for the better of course.)

For fans of Aliya Whiteley and Jeff VanderMeer, The Many will be released in Spring 2026. World English Language Rights were acquired by David Thomas Moore from Seth Fishman at The Gernert Company. Author Sylvain Neuvel on the acquisition: “It doesn’t happen often, but once in a while you get an idea for a book and the words just start pouring out of you like you’ve been holding them captive for too long. You know that story wants to be told so bad it’s going to chase you in your dreams, haunt you day and night until you put it on the page. That’s how it was with The Many. I knew these characters before I gave them a name. I knew the plot, the pacing, what sort of a ride I wanted it to be. I’m thrilled to be working with the amazing team at Solaris to bring this new story into the world.
